Luke 15:1-7 contains Jesus' beloved Parable of the Lost Sheep, told in response to the Pharisees and scribes who criticized Him for welcoming and eating with tax collectors and sinners. Written by Luke as part of his Gospel account, this passage is the first of three parables about losing and finding that illustrate God's heart toward the lost.
