John 8:12-15 records Jesus' bold declaration "I am the light of the world," spoken during the Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem. Written by the apostle John as part of his Gospel account, this passage presents the second of Jesus' seven "I Am" statements that echo God's self-revelation to Moses. For Jesus to claim to be the "light of the world" was no small thing. In fact, it is a claim to equality with God.
