In Philippians 1:2–6, 9–11, Paul opens his letter with a heartfelt expression of gratitude, joy, and confidence in God's work among His people. Writing from prison, Paul could have focused on his own hardships, yet instead he celebrates the faithfulness of the believers in Philippi and thanks God for their partnership in sharing the Gospel.
