Don’t lose your voice for Jesus. Pentecost isn’t just about a dramatic movement of the Holy Spirit, it’s the moment that every believer was given authority and power and enabled to become ministers to the world and priests to one another.
We think of Pentecost as that moment in Acts 2 when rushing wind and fire swept in and over all who were gathered to enable other languages to be spoken so all could hear the good news of Jesus. Yes, it is that, and more. It is the birth of the church, it is the moment every believer was given power and authority through and because of the Holy Spirit – God in us. Yet, we allow our voice, God’s voice to be stifled because of peer pressure, politics, or just simple fear. The Holy Spirit can help us overcome that fear for with the Spirit we do not have a spirit of fear.
