“Doubts, Joy and Wonder”

“Doubts, Joy and Wonder”

Luke 24:35-45

Jesus appears before the frightened disciples in the Upper Room shortly after his resurrection. They can hardly believe their eyes as if it is almost too good to be true. Jesus understands their bewilderment and ask them to examine and even “touch” his body, but the still are not convinced. They are filled with doubts, joy and wonder. Then he asks them if they have anything to eat. They gave him some broiled fish and he ate it! Then he “opened their minds” to the meaning of the scriptures. Even today, Jesus is still opening our minds and hearts to the true meaning of the holy scriptures.
