Paul would not agree with Dickens. He tells us we should focus on God gifts and blessings with the Lordship of Christ. In his prayer…
If God Love us, how does he express that love? It is not through prosperity or physical blessings (though that sometimes happens) but by the “means of grace” which are varied and multi-layered. There is one grace described with the characteristics; Prevenient, Justifying, and Sanctifying. These three components help inform us and help us identify where God is at work.
We can know God because of his character. God is a creating God and since we are made in his image we carry the gift of creation with us.
Believers have a variety of options when defending against spiritual perils. Ephesians has some practical applications for us today.
In our struggles of life, no matter where or what is happening, we have not been asked to be “successful” by human standards but to persevere. With our spiritual vision, we can look and declare “What a view!” of God’s work.
In an increasingly divided world, it is Jesus who can bring us together but we must be willing to go and share our life together.
