In-Person Worship Instructions and Procedures

The following are our planned expectations and instructions for attending worship.  As always, if you feel ill or have illness symptoms, please remain home and continue to worship with us online, we’ll continue just as we have been, but with a shift to 9:30 a.m. for the live stream.

Personal Expectations:

    • You agree to wear face-covering (mask and/or shield) when attending worship
    • You do not have any symptoms of illness, particularly covid symptoms
    • You will refrain from hugging, shaking hands, and maintain the expected “social distancing” we are all becoming familiar with
    • You will follow directions on signs and from ushers/staff as we enter and exit
    • You will not sing out loud
    • You will encourage others and greet them with a hearty wave
    • You will arrive with a heart centered on worship and ready to engage the Word

Before Sunday Morning:

    • Each Monday, prior to worship, you’ll need to register. This is so we can avoid exceeding our gathering limitations.
      • On the home page click on the button “Register for Sunday Worship.”  You will need to do a separate registration for each person attending with you.
      • OR Call the church office between 10 and 2 Tuesday – Thursday to register, 623-974-5821.
      • Our attendance limit initially is 75 people. We’ll expand that as it is safe to do so.
    • Once we reach 75, you won’t be able to sign on as the system ends registration at that point. If we exceed the 75, we’ll ask those in attendance to register later in the week to give those who missed an opportunity. As capacity is increased, so will registration limits.

What to Expect on Arrival at Church:

      • Look for signs to help direct you to the front of the sanctuary. We will only enter from the main door where you will be greeted by ushers.
      • Arrive no earlier than 9 a.m. when the doors will open.
      • Wear your mask and use the hand sanitizers when you enter the building. You will be checked for temperature as you enter (this takes just two seconds)
      • Please sit where directed, do not take down barriers to other pews as we have planned for appropriate distancing.
      • We won’t be using bulletins or hymnals (but you’re used to that now!) but there will be an order of service available on the website before Sunday morning if you wish to print one out.
    • When exiting the church, we will leave row-by-row to avoid bunching up. Exit by either the north or south side doors only.
    • Offering plates will be placed by the exit doors for your convenience or you may wish to continue giving on-line or dropping your offering in the mail or the mail slot at the staff back entrance.
    • Be ready to worship and attentive to God’s word for you!

You’ll notice the service is somewhat trimmed from a normal since we will not have congregational singing or responsive readings at first.

This is not ideal and it’s not where we want to be, but it is a step towards that goal and keeping you as safe as possible. We’ll continue our on-line presence, even expanding that in the next few weeks. For those who are ready and confident to attend in-person, we’re going to be ready to welcome you. We’ll do our best to keep you informed and to anticipate this changing environment.

Grace & Peace, Pastor John
