LADIES, YOU WERE MEANT TO BE A FIERCE WOMAN OF GOD!
A new Women’s Bible Study Fierce – Women of the Bible Who Changed the World by Jennifer Cowart will begin on Tuesday, January 14. This study will meet in Smoot hall from 9 to 10:30 am, and will be led by Rhonda Plinske. This six-week study will challenge us to influence our world as these fierce women of the Bible influenced theirs.
The word Fierce is trendy. It is used to describe women who are extreme athletes, high-level executives, and even supermodels; women at the top of their game and making a difference in the world, but what about the rest of us? Can we be fierce too?
The answer: Absolutely! Women like us have been changing the world for thousands of years – many who received little recognition yet lived fiercely anyway. In this study we will explore lesser-known women of the Bible and the ways they changed the world by living God’s calling for them. The study will include Shiphrah and Puah, midwives of Egypt who made hard decisions in the face of evil; Deborah, who was an unlikely and powerful leader; Naaman’s slave girl, who bravely points others to God’s healing power; The Samaritan Woman, who boldly repented and shared her faith; Dorcas, who showed kindness to those in need and Lois and Eunice, who parented with intentionality and effectiveness. As we explore our lives, we will discover that we, too, can live into our callings, honor the Lord, and even change the world through our fierce courage, faithfulness, and obedience.
If you enjoyed the studies “Bad Girls of the Bible” or “Really Bad Girls of the Bible”, this study will introduce you to some new women of the Bible. Sign up in the church office. Study books will be available in January.
